SUPPORT FORREST THEATRE MUSICIANS

The Shubert Organization is America’s oldest professional theatre company and the largest theatre owner on Broadway. Since the dawn of the 20th century, Shubert has operated hundreds of theatres in New York City and throughout the United States. Shubert currently owns and operates 17 Broadway theatres, six off-Broadway venues, and the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia.

We are currently in negotiations, and our musicians are working to negotiate a fair contract.

1. Management has refused to disclose financial information citing that it is not important for bargaining.
2. The last 5-year contract only offered 2% raises during each year while the cost of living spiked by more than 23.2% since 2018.
3. Management has offered 3% over the next three years, citing that they have the money to pay more, but are choosing not to do so.
4. They are not interested in committing to prohibiting electronic instruments from replacing live musicians.
5. Musicians who perform at the Forrest Theatre make more than $400 less than at The Academy of Music for doing the same work.
