Cheryl Dungan Cunningham – Harp
Cheryl Dungan Cunningham has performed extensively in the mid-Atlantic region as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician. She is Principal Harpist with the Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey, Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, and Allegro Orchestra Lancaster. As a member of Les Meslange des Plaisirs; The Fine Companions duo with flutist Amy Shimmin; Voix seraphique with keyboardist Kathleen Scheide and as a founding member of the resident ensemble of the Southampton Chamber Music Society series, she frequently performs a wide variety of chamber music. Equally active as a pedagogue and author, she maintains a busy private teaching studio, and is an Affiliate Artist Instructor at Cairn University. Cheryl has served the American Harp Society, Inc. in many capacities: from 2016-2018 as President; from 2014-2016 as Chairman of the Board; and from 2006-2010 as First Vice President. Currently, she is a Chair of the 2021 AHS National Conference in Orlando. In addition, she is the longtime Treasurer of the Philadelphia Chapter of the AHS, and in 2004 was Co-Chair of the AHS National Conference in Philadelphia. Cheryl earned Bachelor of Music in Harp, Bachelor of Music Education, and Master of Music in Harp degrees with High Distinction from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, where she studied with Susann McDonald and Peter E. Eagle.
