Carol Briselli – Viola and Violin
Carol Briselli is a professional violist, playing with Opera Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Ballet and several other orchestras in the greater Philadelphia area. She has maintained a private studio in her home in Glen Mills for over 25 years, and also is on the faculty of Haverford, Swarthmore and Bryn Mawr Colleges, as well as Lincoln University. She taught methods classes and private lessons at West Chester University for 28 years.
Carol has a B.A. in French and Music from SUNY at Binghamton and her M.M. in Viola Performance from Temple University. She studied with Toby Appel, Leonard Mogill, Evelyn Jacobs Luise and Sol Greitzer.
An active free lancer in Philadelphia, Carol is also the founding member of the Arioso Quartet, playing weddings, parties and concerts throughout the area. She is the sole proprietor of the quartet and writes many arrangements for the group as special requests are presented.
The String Teacher of the Year Award was presented to her in 2003 from the Pennsylvania and Delaware String Teachers Association (PADESTA).
Her passion for teaching has increased through the years, and she has taught every level and age from the youngest players to advanced college students to adults. During the pandemic of 2020, she was able to continue teaching through Zoom.
Carol would be honored to add more students to her studio!
